Barbara is a wife, Mom, Marketer, and honorary nurse. She works to give Olivia the best possible life under the circumstances of her genetic disease Cystic Fibroses and her subsequent Liver transplants (2) due to her basic diagnoses of CF. They have had a long fourteen year battle with liver disease and now several lung issues have come to the surface due to the liver disease. She is passionate about her family and about life outside the hospital.
In this battle, they have spent many days, weeks, years in the hospital enviroment. They have survived many life and death circumstances and have so many specialists that it is hard to keep it all together. Barbara has had to fight many battles for Olivia and her family along with learning how to adapt, cope and remain sane within the healthcare system. She has seen her life as a ministry inside the walls of the hospital and inside the mission field of parents dealing with very ill children. She sees the pain, suffering, loss of hope and fear of not only the children but the parents. She has learned how to cope and hopes to pass on tidbits of encouragement, how to remain sane in an 8x8 pressure cooker called a hospital room. and some things that might help you survive that you can bring from home for extended stays.
