Kim and Barb are just two Moms that have had extrodinary journeys through the Pediatric Medical System. Kim had searched for years to find an answer to Tyler's on-going illness. He had been diagnosed with everything from growing pains to a virus. Finally, after many pursuits by Kim they found that Tyler had Mitochondrial disease. Kim has navigated the waters of specialist to specialist to find the best care and treatment for Tyler. Her stories will make you laugh, make you cry and challenge you to find out more if you are dealing with a child that seems to not fall into the normal parameters of Pediatric Care.
Barb has been a guest of one hospital after another over the last ten years with Olivia. Olivia's organs all failed at the age of three and she was life flighted to Atlanta for a more thorough diagnosis. Over the years Olivia has had one liver transplant, been diagnosed with Cystic Fibroses, Diabetes and is currently in need of another liver transplant and is listed on the UNOS database. Barb has been through specialist after specialist and land has learned the way to manage her child's chronic illness from the 8x8 room of the hospital. Olivia has spent more time in the hospital than out for the last ten years. She uses these opportunites to learn from others, stretch her knowledge and is able to organzie a hospital room with envy, LOL.
Both Mom's goal is to help others find ways to laugh, live and love their children in a way that glorifies Christ. Having chronically ill children not only affects the child, but your family life, your marriage life and your social life. Walk with them as they try to help by telling their stories, crying with others, and praying for families. Their only goal is to reach others with some Godly wisdom they have learned along the way. Because their belief is that only God can get you through those moments.
